"Live To Tape" - Doesn't Really Mean Videotape...

Live television refers to a television production broadcast in real-time, as events happen, in the present...

... But the medium and way in which that process gets accomplished, can vary from situation to situation. The old physical Video “Tape”, for the most part, has completely vanished. Where digital acquisition in video production is pretty much the standard.

"Digital" Live-To-Tape???

It just makes sense in many applications; capturing digitally eliminates the need to “playback” the footage in real-time for ingestion, speeding up the post-production process immensely.

Plus, in a polished “Live-To-Tape” production – the goal is to have a ready to distribute / broadcast piece of content at the productions conclusion (right after the final applause and the house lights come up, grand curtain goes down... or the director yells 'that's a wrap' [In a studio setting]).

In that regard, at HD1 – we find that “Live-To-Tape” production fits clients who are producers of seminars, or trade-shows, concerts, or speaking engagements – where the end goal is to not only go “Live” with their content as it is happening (either by directly streaming the content with HD1, or using 3rd party services such as U-Stream or LiveStream), but to also have that content ready to package for sale at the conclusion of the event, either in form of Digital Downloads, DVD's or USB Drives.

So here's a real working example of how Live-Video makes YOU (The Client) money...

For example, we produced a series of Legal Training Seminars for a well-known keynote speaker (Retired U.S. Prosecutor), where she wanted to share her seminars with her virtual audience LIVE via their smart-phones and web-connected televisions. Completely unaware of an additional revenue stream and an additional resource value to her seminar attendees - was the ability to then offer DVD's for purchase at the conclusion of her series.

Not only that, HD1 packaged the series on a special Digital Download site as well – allowing visitors to have options at their levels of convenience.

DVD's were ready at the time attendees left the seminar, as well as the following day at hotel-checkout – for attendees who stayed that evening at the seminars hotel.
