Our partners over at 22nd Avenue Entertainment Logistics, have come up with an awesome fix for using LANC on the Sony X70 and other multiport Sony Camcorders.
The biggest issue with the new line of professional camcorders from Sony, puts us in the position of sacrificing thumb/rocker zoom controllers. These are excellent in their design for single-handed operation, which just makes production for live go... super smooth.
Up until now, we've been using Sony's CBM APP as a controller... mounting cell-phones or tablets to the tripod. Obviously less than idea!

When approaching a vendor for your upcoming project, it's important to understand a little more about "Production" and this thing called "Video".
Stable. Sharp. Nicely colored shots, with awesome audio - is pretty much the standard expectation nowadays. Anything less than that, is sub-par.
But understanding a little more about the production of video, as a client, will help you to better understand what to expect in the finished product - as well as - what to budget for.
Live television refers to a television production broadcast in real-time, as events happen, in the present...
... But the medium and way in which that process gets accomplished, can vary from situation to situation. The old physical Video “Tape”, for the most part, has completely vanished. Where digital acquisition in video production is pretty much the standard.
In that regard, at HD1 – we find that “Live-To-Tape” production fits clients who are producers of seminars, or trade-shows, concerts, or speaking engagements – where the end goal is to not only go “Live” with their content as it is happening (either by directly streaming the content with HD1, or using 3rd party services such as U-Stream or LiveStream), but to also have that content ready to package for sale at the conclusion of the event, either in form of Digital Downloads, DVD's or USB Drives.
So here's a real working example of how Live-Video makes YOU (The Client) money...
Completely unaware of an additional revenue stream and an additional resource value to her seminar attendees
Not only that, HD1 packaged the series on a special Digital Download site as well – allowing visitors to have options at their levels of convenience.
DVD's were ready at the time attendees left the seminar, as well as the following day at hotel-checkout – for attendees who stayed that evening at the seminars hotel.

So, you have an event coming up that you don't necessarily want to broadcast... but you still want a solid multiple-camera production?
Let's say you've been doing a National Dance Competition (or a Dance Performance) for years, you've had videos made before... but the post-production took way too long... and you're really not sure how you can "up" the production value for your guests.
That's where the Flypack comes in.
Once the show is over, we can immediately make the finished production available on your web-site available for download, Youtube, Social Media... or duplicate and distribute DVD's on-site, right at your venue! (Up to 100 DVD's p/hour, standard [w/ larger capacities available up to 1000 DVD's p/hour!]).
Gone are the days of 40' Foot Production Trailers and $575,000 invoices (for just the video). With content being king, it is important – more than ever – to produce affordable, quality content for immediate release (Via Social Media, or Broadcast). The biggest mistake a potential client can make, is dismissing the effectiveness of video.
For training videos, or product demonstration videos, or even live-event videos... many clients think that a swift turnaround is too expensive. But in reality, at HD1, we prefer a swift turnaround for these types of projects as it get's the clients project off the ground to help their bottom-line, as well as clears Post-Production space for additional and on-going projects!
It's a win-win!
Most live-event, or live training videos are shot in real-time allowing for turnaround in as little as 24 hours in most situations.
It's an affordable solution for businesses and entrepreneurs looking to make an impact, swiftly, with quality High-Definition or 4K content to move their message forward.

What's your story?
A lot of people, before they become clients of ours, held a common misunderstand that "Streaming" was something you do with music... or something that only a web-cam could do!
... even though those are some things you could do with "Streaming" - today's technology has opened the doors to a wave a new concepts and ideas. Streaming via IP, or Web - allows the client to directly feed (from a server) content to an individual... either on-demand, or Live. That content which you stream could be a single camera... but with HD1 Mobile Television Production... we're actually taking a full-scale, multiple-camera, High Definition production... and streaming it, to the clients locations of choosing!
... why not work with your already adoring fans and make that concert available to them, in a Live High-Definition Broadcast engagement?
Clients have recently asked to have us better explain what a "Second" Vision Mix really details... and why it's important.
Essentially, having a "Second" or a "Third" and even a "Fourth" Vision Mix - can many times make or break a Broadcast/Production (from and aesthetic and professional standpoint). Why? Simply put - each Mix is just that... it is a creative choice made by the TD (Technical Director), Director, or in certain circumstances, the Client - as to what image/camera/element will be displayed, Live, within that mix.
The Productions Feed (better known as "The Blog") is the place to get the latest press on what we're doing at HD1 Productions and how we are helping clients get the most out of their projects.
